Johor Bahru gets a boost to Indonesia

AirAsia announced yesterday to restart a non stop service from Johor Bahru Senai International Airport to Bandung in West Java. It will be the fourth service to Indonesia for AirAsia out of Malaysia’s southern airport.

JOHOR BAHRU – AirAsia will be re-connecting its direct flights from Johor Bahru to Bandung, Indonesia with three times weekly frequency effective October 16 this year.
 
In a statement yesterday, AirAsia said promotional seats will be available for booking online at www.airasia.com with all-in fares starting from RM99 one way starting yesterday until August 10, this year for the travel period from October 16, 2014 to July 31 next year.
 
The three times weekly direct flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, marking AirAsia’s fourth Indonesian destination connected with direct flights from the airline’s southern hub, Johor Baru, apart from Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Lombok,” declared the airline management.

Booking is also available on AirAsia’s mobile apps through iPhone, Android devices, Blackberry10 and the Windows Platform.
 

The direct flight was previously operated by AirAsia Indonesia (flight code QZ) and will now be operated by Malaysia AirAsia (flight code AK), AirAsia is the only airline providing direct flights from Johor Baru to Bandung. 
 
Apart from AirAsia, only Citilink Indonesia– a low cost affiliate from Garuda Indonesia, currently flies to Johor Bahru, also out of Surabaya. In the past, Johor Bahru used also to be connected to Jakarta and Medan.
 
Currently, Senai International Airport is linked by non stop scheduled flights to nine cities in Malaysia, three in Indonesia as well as to Ho Chi Minh City.
