CentralFestival Samui grand opening on 29 March 2014

CentralFestival Samui, CPN’s 24th shopping centre project in Thailand, is a 3.1-billion-baht retail project that has total gross floor area of 90,000 square metres on a land plot spanning 37 rai.

Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) announced that it is ready to unveil its latest grand retail development project, CentralFestival Samui, appealingly located on Koh Samui, the world-renowned tourist destination in Thailand. It is ideally situated on the best location along Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui, which is considered the main business area of the island. CentralFestival Samui will officially open on 29th March, kicking off with a grand opening featuring a fun-filled “Neon Party” with amazing performances such as the Splash Drums show, the Acrobatic Ocean Dance and a special highlight of the party “DJ Spin”. The party will be colourful and nothing short of spectacular and fun, with superstars and celebrities like Pakorn “Dome” Lum, Ratha “Ying” Pohngam, Janesuda Panto, Keng Tachaya and Taengmoe Wallika attending and performing for the crowd. Everyone get ready to enjoy special campaigns and promotions that CentralFestival Samui will be offering at the opening on 29th March.
 
Dr. Nattakit Tandpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President of Marketing for CPN, said: “CPN sees Koh Samui’s great growth potential owing to the island being recognised as one of the world’s top tourist destinations drawing visitors with high purchasing power from all over the globe including Europe, Australia, Russia and China. Koh Samui attracts 1.9 million visitors per year, 80% of whom are foreigners. In addition, Koh Samui has seen dramatic growth in residential property development. CPN intends for the 3.1-billion-baht CentralFestival Samui to be a new landmark for the island, standing out both in terms of design and the extensiveness of offerings. The shopping centre’s design features elements and details that are unique to Koh Samui and will be the first themed mall developed by CPN. Its world-class design allows customers to have a resort-style shopping experience under the “Reminiscence of Southern Lifestyle” concept. Shoppers can relax while enjoying their shopping sprees. CentralFestival Koh Samui will be the newest, most fabulous lifestyle shopping centre in the province with the most extensive offerings that will respond well to the local residents and tourists’ lifestyle needs.”
 
CentralFestival Samui will be a themed mall that presents the unique characteristics of Koh Samui and the way of life of residents on the island that has long been known as a world-class tourist destination. The new shopping centre’s architecture is inspired the vintage Chaweng Port theme and also features contemporary architecture. The vintage Chaweng Port theme can be seen through the use of charming decorations such as birdcages, which will remind people of Koh Samui residents’ daily lives. There are also other beautiful decorative themes such as the Chino-Portuguese influence, the Fisherman Village theme and the Old Town Market theme, showcasing the colonial-style architecture and the “East meets West” blend.
 
CentralFestival Samui will be able to comprehensively respond to customer needs thanks to the main magnet store, namely, Central Department Store and other great anchor stores such as Tops Market, PowerBuy, SuperSports and B2S. There will also be more than 200 stores by local and international brands like Rip Curl, Playboy, Oakley, Uniqlo, CCOO, Giordano, Esprit, Jaspal, Adidas, Psylo, Natural Art Gallery, Helen Mark and Jim Thompson. Furthermore, there is a Night Bazaar to attract tourists in the evenings. Moreover, there is also a great dining destination with an extensive range of cuisines and restaurant types for people of all lifestyles. The Port @ CentralFestival Samui is the first and only “lifestyle dining and gastro bar landmark” on Koh Samui, offering an indoor and outdoor dining space with a chill-out, relaxing atmosphere perfect for celebration. Establishments in the zone include Wine Connection, B Bistro, Zazen, Zen Sushi and Sake, Starbucks, Coffee Club, Coffee World, Copa Cabana, Kushi and Haagen-Dazs. In addition, there is also a Mario Land amusement park decorated under theme “The Pirates of the Caribbean”, aiming to be a hub of happiness for all people on the island. The shopping centre can host a variety of events and can therefore help promote tourism on Koh Samui, attracting more visitors to the island. 
 
Speaking of CPN’s marketing strategies for the opening of CentralFestival Samui, Dr. Nattakit said: ‘CPN has planned a variety of events, campaigns and promotions for the whole year in order to continually attract customers and tourists. CPN will send out reps to strategic areas of Koh Samui to hand out leaflets with AR codes, which can be redeemed for prizes at the Surprise Machine. Leaflets will also be distributed through the online channel at www.centralfestival.co.th and www.facebook.com/CentralFestivalSamui. CPN is also joining forces with its partners to co-launch promotions and jointly offer special privileges to CentralFestival Samui’s customers. For example, cash vouchers will be offered by CDS, Tops Market, SuperSports and B2S while brands and stores like RipCurl, Esprit, Crocs, Playboy, Taywin, Santa Fe, Black Canyon, Wuttisak Clinic, and Samui Medical Clinic will offer many great prizes. The ultimate prize is two sets of 3-day, 2-night accommodation at the Private Pool Villa at Two Villas Holiday in Phuket. International tourists can apply for the Tourist Privilege card free of charge at the information counters and enjoy many privileges available only to international tourists, including discounts of up to 50% at stores and 5% discounts at Central Department Store. They will also receive a free “WE LOVE SAMUI” luggage tag.
 
CPN has planned amazing activities for the grand opening of CentralFestival Samui, including the fun-filled Neon Night Party. Partygoers will be wearing white and get painted with glow-in-the-dark neon bright colours before entering the party. People will get to enjoy an exciting showcase of “free running” and a themed LED show named “We Love Samui”. The highlights of the party include a sexy performance by Ratha “Ying” Pohngam, a DJ Spin session with stage lighting and sound effects. There will be live performances every night, including band performances, DJ mixing and other shows sponsored by renowned restaurants and bars on Koh Samui. There will also be a “Uniqlo Meet & Greet the Superstar” session, featuring handsome actor and singer Pakorn “Dome” Lum. Janesuda Panto will be emceeing at the grand opening and Keng Tachaya from The Voice Season 1 and Taengmoe Wallika from The Voice Season 2 will be performing a mini concert. As CPN has become a part of Surat Thani province, we are committed to contributing to local community services and social activities. We have carried out various CSR activities in the province including an environmental preservation effort Koh Samui through a donation of 300,000 baht to the Municipality of Koh Samui and the Earth Day activity to help clean up the beaches with help from the Municipality of Koh Samui and operators of local hotels.
 
Ms Yuwadee Chirathivat, the president of Central Department Store, said a budget of 425 million baht was spent on building the two-floor Central Department Store at CentralFestival Samui. The store has total gross floor area of 8,000 square metres. It is the first and only Central Department Store with only two floors. It features a contemporary resort design concept and touts the natural beachfront atmosphere. Glass panels and windows are used in order to give an airy feel to the building. There is a garden in-between the escalators. As there are only two floors, customers can choose to walk up the stairs, use the escalators or ride the lifts.
 
CentralFestival Samui will offer products and services that the meet the same standard as those offered at Central shopping malls in Bangkok. The products and services offered will respond well to the lifestyle needs of families and young people as well as tourists. Over 400 brands are available here. 
 
Ms Yuwadee said: “To celebrate the opening of “CentralFestival Samui”, we are holding the “CentralFestival Samui Grand Opening” campaign, which will run from 29th March to 7th April 2014. Customers will get to enjoy many offers including up to 30% discounts in most departments and up to 15% discounts at the Beauty Gallery department. An additional discount of up to 15% is redeemable when using points from The 1 Card (as part of the Central/ZEN The 1 Card X-Treme promotion). An on-top discount of up to 15% is available to those who redeem their Kbank credit card reward points for their purchases.”
Extra-special deals sponsored by Bangkok Airways are available to ‘The 1 Card’ top spenders (accumulated purchase throughout campaign period). Top spenders with over 100,000 baht purchase will receive a chance to win 2 return plane tickets for a Koh Samui-Hong Kong-Koh Samui trip (one prize, valued at 68,100 Baht). Top spenders with over 60,000 Baht purchase will receive a chance to win 2 return plane tickets for a Koh Samui-Singapore-Koh Samui trip (2 prizes, valued at 44,000 Baht each, or 88,000 Baht in total). Keng Tachaya from The Voice Season 1 will be performing a mini concert on Saturday, 29th March at 16.00 hrs. Talented singer Taengmoe Wallika from The Voice Season 2 will take over on Sunday 30 March 16.00 hrs. There will also be other fun-filled attractions and activities inside the shopping centre. 
 
CentralFestival Samui can be accessed via four entrances. The first is via Paruchaweng Road. The second entrance is located in front of Tops Market. The third entrance is located adjacent to Chaweng Beach Road 1 and the fourth entrance is close to Chaweng Beach Road 2. Its parking area has the capacity to accommodate 1,200 cars and 600 motorcycles. Additional parking space for 1,400 cars has been prepared for the grand opening day.
