BANGKOK- Is it a surprise? Shenzhen, the sprawling metropolis on the doorsteps of Hong Kong was the most visited urban destination in China in 2012. Interestingly, cities surrounding Hong Kong made it in the top 10 (Guangzhou and Zhuhai). However, if the ranking takes into consideration only overseas arrivals, Shanghai is the favourite destination for foreign visitors, followed by Beijing and Guangzhou- both offering a wealth of historical, cultural and urban attractions.
