Centara expands its horizon along Thai coastlines

Centara resorts in both Rayong and Trat are due to be expanded due to the success of both destinations.

TRAT- This is a quiet property facing a white sand beach along the preserved coastline of Trat, in Central Thailand. Centara Chaan Talay Resort & Villas Trat is located within a tranquil garden, miles away from the bustle and hustle of a city. But its main asset is this incredible 800-meter long white sand beach with the view stretching up to neighbouring Koh Chang island. When it turns hot, casuarina trees along the beach provide a welcome shaddy atmosphere to its guests. “This is certainly what makes our hotel so successful. However it could have even more success if more promotion was done for the coastal area. But authorities tend to only promote Koh Chang Island for the province”, indicates Kris Vanitchanont, General Manager of the Centara property in Trat.

The hotel is one of the few luxurious four-star properties on Trat mainland, less than 45 minutes away from the Thai/Cambodian border in Koh Kong and just an hour away from Trat airport. It offers anything that would make a perfect stay for a retreat: spa and well-being facilities as well as a restaurant are provided to the guests while large bedrooms –most of them with balconies or verandahs and a surface of up to 91 m2- provide to guests a “home-style” feeling.

Opened five years ago, the Centara Chaan Talay Resort & Villas is rather an intimate property  as it only features 44 suites and villas. The property was awarded this year the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. The newly released certification is based on ratings posted by hotel guests. Expansion projects are now on the way to expand the property to 70 villas and suites.

Meanwhile, Centara is also launching the rebranding of its Rayong property. Renamed Centara Sappaya Design Resort Rayong, the beachfront property is now repositioned to attract individuals looking for a design-minded trendy accommodation.

“We feel that rebranding the resort in this way will enhance its appeal to those who appreciate fine design as part of a luxury lifestyle, whether they are independent travellers, couples, families, or the corporate market, all of whom will find this a very suitable setting”, explains Suthikiati Chirathivat, Chairman of the Executive Board of Central Plaza Hotel Public Co Ltd.

Centara Sappaya Design Resort Rayong is located on the secluded beach of Laem Mae Phim in Rayong, and currently features 13 designed accommodation units. A second phase expansion is being undertaken under a 70 million baht investment project that will be completed in 2014. It will then add 30 distinctively designed rooms to the resort, along with a new Spa Cenvaree, a fitness centre, another restaurant outlet, and a remodelled lobby.
