Multi-million US dollar line-up at 2013 Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show

PATTAYA – Pattaya opened its doors to the second annual Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show 22 to 24 November 2013 with a multi-million dollar line-up of boats, supercars and bikes, luxury properties and much more. Held at the Ocean Marina Yacht Club, Jomtien Beach, the show attracted over 3,000 visitors from around the world to the largest marine and lifestyle showcase in Thailand.

Generating a lot of interest is a 33 metre a superyacht displayed by Northrop & Johnson – the largest yacht in the Show this year and priced at USD6.5m – which together with leading international yacht brands make for a stellar line-up of luxury yachts.

Harley Davidson were launching their latest model at the Show – never yet to be seen in Thailand, the new superbike is set to create a lot of buzz.

“The 2013 Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show was even bigger and better than last year. The number of exhibitors is higher, and the quality of products on display is exceptional. The Boat Show showcased Pattaya to the world and position Pattaya as a leading marine tourism destination in South East Asia,” said Mrs. Supatra Angkawinijwong, Deputy Managing Director, Ocean Property.

The 2013 in-water yacht display was the bigger and better than ever before, showing the growing interesting in boating in Thailand. The iconic British yacht brand Princess, part of the LVMH Moet Hennessy – Luis Vuitton group, were displaying a selection of motor yachts including their successful V39 and P56 models. Simpson Marine, Asia’s leading international yacht brokerage, were present and representing the luxury Azimut, Nautor’s Swan and Beneteau brands amongst others, and together with Gulf Craft and the Italian-built Cranchi brand, and some excellent examples of local marine craftsmanship from Bakri Cono, Austhai Marine and Serenity, the in-water line-up of yachts is the best yet.

Complementing the marine offerings is a large onshore display including some of the most recognised auto marques in the world, namely Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, Land Rover and Ducati, together with select luxury villas and condominiums, elegant timepieces by Edox, and all manner of marine accessories, toys, gadgets, widgets and more.

Known as the Thai Riviera, Pattaya is popular with international visitors and just one hour from Bangkok is the city’s playground-by-the-sea. It’s close proximity to the capital has seen Pattaya become Thailand’s leading marine leisure playground and Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show the showcase event.

“The marine industry is well developed in the Pattaya area and is showing strong growth. This is mirrored by a growth in the number of Thais enjoying the marine lifestyle and buying boats. With many domestic and international tourists coming to Pattaya to enjoy the sailing grounds and marine facilities, the industry is contributing significantly to Pattaya’s tourism,” added Mrs. Angkawinijwong.
