Hong Kong Disneyland brings luck and fortune with Golden Chinese New Year Celebration.
HONG KONG- Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has anchored its Golden Chinese New Year Celebration to welcome the Year of the Snake in a theme of gold, which symbolizes fortune and luck. A golden adventure will await guests starting from February 1 to 24 at the Resort’s newest themed area, Grizzly Gulch, a Wild West town of the luckiest Gold Rush era.
The Park has created an immersive festive environment by mapping out a ‘Golden Walk of Fortune’ along the Main Street, U.S.A. Guests can capture the happy moments at the Golden Mickey photo location in Town Square upon their arrival at Hong Kong Disneyland.
As they continue the celebratory journey, they will find themselves immersed into the spirit of Chinese New Year as seasonal decor will line the area, and beloved Disney Characters in their gold trimmed outfits will extend their felicitous greetings to wish guests a golden year filled with good fortune. As a tradition during Chinese New Year, golden Mickey Lai See filled with chocolate coins will be distributed throughout the Park from the first to seventh day of Chinese New Year (February 10-16, 2013), bringing guests some special Disney luck.
Extending the Golden Walk into the township of Grizzly Gulch, guests’ luck will be enhanced by touching the largest golden nugget found to date at Assay Office and joining in the aquatic antics that will take place at Geyser Gulch.
“Our newest themed area, Grizzly Gulch, has received overwhelmingly positive Guest feedback since it opened last July. A recent Park survey revealed that Guest satisfaction towards Grizzly Gulch has reached 85%. We look forward to welcoming Guests over Chinese New Year and invite them to explore this town of gold and fortune to ring in this auspicious year,” said Terruce Wang, vice president of Sales and Distribution Marketing.
The festive atmosphere will spread throughout the entire Resort. During the Golden Chinese New Year Celebration, guests staying at a Kingdom Club Suite in Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel can enjoy Mickey’s “golden fortune” room decorations. For other room bookings, guests will receive a special gift to take home with the festive Chinese New Year room decoration package for just HK$600.
The Resort has prepared over 50 festive gift ideas, to be sold exclusively in the Resort’s merchandise shops, for Guests wishing to share good luck with their family and friends. The season’s special collection includes Mickey’s special fortune-telling sticks, a golden light up fortune wheel, Disney Lai See Red Packets and various types of festive candy boxes and biscuits. There is also a limited edition watch to bring good fortune everywhere throughout the Year of the Snake.
An array of festive dining choices has also been prepared for Chinese New Year feasting. There is the Chinese New Year Treasure in Pot Set Menu available at River View Cafe, and the new Chinese New Year afternoon tea set served at Studio Lounge at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel.
To make the Chinese New Year holiday even more splendid and to fully enjoy all the attractions and Chinese New Year festivities, Guests may purchase 2-Day Tickets and enter the Park on any two days within a period of seven consecutive days (except Designated Days).
