HA NOI — The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is seeking candidates for the position of tourism ambassador for 2013-14 period now that actress Ly Nha Ky has completed her term.
Both Vietnamese nationals and foreigners are encouraged to apply for the honorary title via the ministry’s Department for International Co-operation, the ministry said. Deadlines for applications and nominations is February 28.
Candidates should be individuals of high professional standing with outstanding achievements in their work, as well as person who have made an active contribution to society and have the capacity to perform fundraising.
Foreign candidates should also have a deep love for Viet Nam and a profound understanding of Vietnamese history and culture, and have made a remarkable contribution to the country’s development.
In 2013, the ambassador will be expected to focus on promoting the National Tourism Year of the Hong (Red) River Delta, the ministry said.
