HONG KONG AND MANILA – Travellers Hotel International Group, Inc. (THIGI), owner of the Philippines’ first highly successful one-stop, non-stop integrated hub, Resorts World Manila (RWM), recently inked a management agreement with leading global hospitality company, Hilton Worldwide, which will see the introduction of a Hilton Hotels & Resorts property in Manila as part of Resorts World Manila’s Third Phase Expansion Project, on Friday, December 7, at the exclusive Genting Club of Maxims Hotel.

With the emergence of a new and promising Philippine economy, a booming tourism and hospitality scenario, and a handful of multinational investors dropping anchor in Asia’s new economic Tiger, the Philippines, Hilton Worldwide is poised to bring back its glory days through the soon-to-rise of Hilton Manila at Resorts World Manila.

This agreement, in addition to a number of developments and the expansion of several international hotel brands in the Newport Property, is expected to propel RWM’s position as the prime tourism hotspot in Asia, catering to the growing influx of international visitors to the country with five prime hotels in its all-in-one mix-used complex in the next few years.

“Resorts World Manila welcomes the addition of Hilton Manila to our integrated leisure and lifestyle complex, as we remain faithful to the class of offerings and attractions we are most known for,” relayed THIGI President, Kingson Sian.

“We envision RWM as the prime tourism destination in Asia which offers the best there is to the world. Hilton Worldwide has definitely made the right decision to choose Resorts World Manila as the future home for its 350-room property,” he added.

Aside from the Hilton Worldwide partnership, other numerous investment undertakings were also initiated by THIGI during the Grand Fiesta 2012 signing ceremonies held on 23 November, including noteworthy projects with Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide which would usher in the construction of two deluxe hotels, 350-room Sheraton Hotel in Resorts World Manila and 600-room Westin Hotel in the anticipated Resorts World Manila Bayshore at the Entertainment City complex in the Manila Bay Area.

Agreements for the expansion of existing prime hotels, Marriott and the luxurious all-suite Maxims, were also made. The project is set to add another 234 rooms to Marriott Hotel Manila and an approximate of 200 more rooms to Maxims Hotel.

With the projects being undertaken by THIGI plus the other hotels that will be built by its parent company, Alliance Global Group, Inc., an estimated 5,000 hotel rooms will be added to the Philippines’ hotel room inventory in the next five years. This grand expansion plan supports the country’s continuously booming tourism industry.
