New appointment at PATA

PATA appointed late last week Mam Puangthip Chotipantawanon as Director of Operations for the association at its Bangkok headquarters.

BANGKOK-The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has announced the promotion of Ms "Mam" Puangthip Chotipantawanon as Director of Operations effective August 1 reporting to Chief Operating Officer Ms Sheila Leong.

Mam is responsible for operations across all departments to provide an association-wide support structure to actively and regularly engage with members; deliver all PATA products, services and events in a timely and profitable manner, and to convey the highest standards to satisfy the needs and relevance of PATA membership.

Mam joined PATA in 2003 and has since been responsible for supporting  PATA Events. Prior to PATA, she was Senior Manager of events management  and developments at the Bangkok-based Queen Sirikit National Convention  Centre, and Senior Manager at MICE Marketing for Siam Express. A Thai National, Mam earned her Master's Degree in Food Systems Management from the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA.

Commenting on the promotion, Mr Martin J Craigs, PATA CEO said: "We at PATA welcome Mam as our new Director of Operations. Mam   has been contributing to the success of PATA events for nearly the last  ten years. This appointment will unify PATA Next Gen around the globe, improving coordination and engagement among all PATA members."  

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is a not-for profit membership association that acts as a catalyst for the responsible development of travel and tourism within the Asia Pacific region. This year, PATA is proud to celebrate 60 dynamic years of developing responsible tourism. In partnership with private and public sector members, PATA enhances  the sustainable growth, value and quality of travel and tourism to, from and within, the region.

The Association provides leadership and counsel on an individual and  collective basis to over 80 government, state and city tourism bodies;  nearly 50 international airlines, airports and cruise lines and many hundreds of travel industry companies across the Asia Pacific region and  beyond.
