Seoul, Korea – The Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) was in Seoul on 14 May and will be in Busan on 16 May, as part of its mission to explore opportunities to secure regional and international corporate meetings and incentive from Korea for 2019.

This mission will include an award presentation and appreciation dinner organised by MyCEB for the Malaysia Twin Deal XP programme winners and also to the introduce the new Malaysia Twin Deal V programme for 2019 as well as networking sessions with participants in both cities.

The mission is led by MyCEB CEO, Datuk Zulkefli Hj Sharif, supported by a strong Malaysian delegation, including officials from the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau and the Sabah Tourism Board.

According to Datuk Zulkefli Hj. Sharif, besides such initiatives from MyCEB, Malaysia is also geared up with a year-long programme in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020, which targets 30 million tourist arrivals and RM100 billion in tourist receipts.

“On top of that, increasing flight frequency and more destinations between Malaysia and Korea too are being planned. Recently, Air Busan decided to start direct flights from Busan and Daegu to Kota Kinabalu Sabah for the first time starting this month,” Datuk Zulkefli Hj. Sharif said.

In 2018, MyCEB secured over 6,600 participants from Korea and with a target of 5% increase in growth for the business events sector from this market for 2019. This is in-line with the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign to attract more visitors to Malaysia, as well as to showcase the best and latest of Malaysia’s offerings to corporate meeting and incentive groups from Korea.

The MTD V programme, now in its fifth edition, consists of Deal 1, Deal 2 and a Special Cumulative Rewards scheme and are all designed to add more value to clients and international corporate meeting and incentive planners. The V stands for Vibes, demonstrating the vibrancy and ‘colourful’ offerings of the deals and rewards. ‘V’ is also the Roman numeral five.

Malaysia Twin Deal V programme is applicable to corporate and incentive groups with confirmed bookings made between 1 April 2019 to 30 November 2020 for arrivals by 31 December 2020.
