Brisbane Marriott Hotel unveils new look after extensive redesign

From the ambient lighting used throughout the hotel, reminiscent of a balmy Brisbane evening, to the color palette in the hotel rooms, every element was inspired by the Brisbane region.

Brisbane, Australia – Brisbane Marriott Hotel has unveiled its AUD20 million extensive redesign that transformed its 267 guest rooms and suites, Executive Lounge, two floors of event space and its signature restaurant, reinventing the experience of the legendary hotel.

Mike Fulkerson, Vice President, Brand and Marketing Asia Pacific, Marriott International, said: “Brisbane Marriott is a very special property for the Marriott Hotel brand in Australia. Not only is it situated in a creative location that inspires our guests and sparks new ways of thinking, but the team’s intuitive hospitality truly reflects the hosting culture of our brand heritage.”

The hotel’s revitalization together with the rebirth of the neighboring Riverside Precinct, inclusive of Petrie’s Bight and Howard Smith Wharves, has established Brisbane Marriott as the city’s destination to stay in premium comfort with Brisbane’s newest entertainment precinct at its doorstep.

The hotel employed the expertise of Malaysian-based company Duoz Design to ensure the hotel embodied its Brisbane heritage in a modernized design. Careful consideration was given to the hotel’s unique natural and historic surroundings and these details were incorporated into the new design to create a multi-dimensional sensory experience for guests.

John Douglas, Brisbane Marriott Hotel General Manager, said: “From the ambient lighting used throughout the hotel, reminiscent of a balmy Brisbane evening, to the color palette in the hotel rooms, every element was inspired by the Brisbane region. We are proud to welcome guests to experience the reintroduction of this special hotel, made even more memorable as the hotel celebrates its 21st birthday.”

Striking guestroom interiors are set in neutral tones that recall the surrounding nature, from the bark-toned headboard to the grey walls and deep earthy brown details that were inspired by Brisbane’s parks and forests. Textured soft furnishings contrast beautifully against historic marble, which has been restored and renewed in the new guestroom design.

With the inventive spirit of the Marriott Hotels brand in mind, guestrooms are also fitted with the latest technology, including ASSO ABLOY Orion system, a technical inclusion that controls the lighting and air conditioning in each of the hotel’s rooms, elevating the guest experience. The addition of this advanced technology enables front desk staff to conveniently adjust lighting and air conditioning upon guest check-in to ensure a welcoming first impression.

The modernized rooms at Brisbane Marriott Hotel are complete with breathtaking views of either the Brisbane River, taking in the Story Bridge and Kangaroo Point Cliffs, or the River City skyline.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, Motion Dining, delivers creative dining concepts in a convivial space that has been redesigned to include an array of dining offerings and ambiances – diners can be seated at tables overlooking the Grill, sit at high tables in M bar or enjoy alfresco dining overlooking the river on MDeck. Helmed by award-winning Executive Chef Peter Iwanczyk, Motion Dining’s menu proudly showcases the best locally sourced ingredients, including some of the freshest Queensland prime steaks, oysters and Queensland’s finest seafood. The restaurant’s Friday and Saturday night seafood buffet successfully encompasses the essence of Queensland dining.

Brisbane Marriott now accommodates events of all occasions with 12 flexible spaces divided across two floors. The hotel’s expert event team is on hand to spark creativity and create personalized experiences. The hotel also showcases an outdoor pool, meanwhile there’s also a 24-hour gym complete with sweeping views of the Brisbane River and the Dome Spa Retreat.
