India and the Middle East are two of the fastest growing regions in the world, and low cost airlines are driving that growth. This 3rd Annual event follows on from the outstanding success of the second symposium held on this theme in Mumbai last year, which attracted almost 300 delegates and numerous high profile international speakers.
In the last year, new airlines have launched and even more are preparing to commence services over the coming months across India, South Asia and the Middle East. Meanwhile traffic in the region continues to grow at a dramatic pace, in fact domestic passenger numbers increased more than 40% year-on-year in India during the first 3 months of 2006, driven largely by the expansion of low cost airlines, which have increased market share from zero to more than 20% in less than 3 years. These developments have significant implications across the aviation and tourism industries.
Against this dynamic and fast-changing background, the objective of this 2-day annual event is to bring together industry CEOs, investors, airports, suppliers and government leaders with an interest in this region, to discuss the key issues of the day. It is the latest in a series of initiatives organised by CAPA to promote the rapid advances taking place in Indian aviation, to an international audience of the leading industry executives and financiers from around the world.
